Welcome to the Nationwide Education FAQ page. Nationwide Education is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) providing a range of accredited online courses with certificates to industry, government and corporate clients. On this page you’ll find answers to some of our most frequently asked questions.

If you want to work as a Security Guard and apply for a Security Licence:

  • You need to be at least 18 years old at date of application
  • You must complete the Certificate II in Security Operations training course
  • You must not pose a risk to public safety – a Criminal History check will be done
    (there are restrictions regarding past convictions which vary from state to state)

Yes. In order to work as a Security Guard, you need a suitable qualification and licence. The completion of one of the nationally recognised accredited online courses with certificates is a prerequisite for getting a Security Guard Licence. Most likely, you’ll need to complete the Certificate II in Security Operations. However, the units you need to study depend on each state’s requirements. Please contact us for details.

In order to apply for a Security Licence, you need to visit the relevant authority’s website and check whether you have satisfied their requirements. If you believe you satisfy all the requirements, you need to lodge your application, together with your supporting documents, to the relevant licensing body.
